Fight Club is cool. Napolean Dynamite REALLY had an impact on the culture for a while. I still hear quotes from Office Space. The first rule of Fight Club… I can’t decide. (?) I’ll have to go Napolean but… Fight Club is a great flick. Can I give it a half vote too?
I hated the movie, but I got sucked in by the hype and watched the whole thing waiting for it to, “get good.” – Napoleon Dynamite.
i hated Napoleon Dynamite because everyone and their mom quoted it forever, it had a high impact on society but i think fight club gets my vote because people got way more into and wanted to (and probably did) make their own fight clubs.
ps office space is the best movie ever
Maybe it’s a demographic thing, but I haven’t hear anthing recently about Fight Club or Napoleon Dynamite. Perhaps it’s the people I hang out with (geeky computer science folks between the ages of 20 and 30) that make Office Space a super strong brand to me. I am constantly hearing phrases attributed to the movie (red stapler, TPS reports, cube farm ranting, etc..) In this case, I really have to vote for Office Space. PS: I work in a cube farm and can totally identify with the movie. =)
hmmmm This is a tough one. I think I know all the lines from Office Space, not because I’ve seen it a ton of times, but because Jose and Thomas quote it ALL THE TIME! I suppose if I had office politics on a daily basis (I’m a drug rep – in a car all day by myself!) – I would identify with it more. Okay – the truth is I’ve never seen Fight Club (Ryan – you can officially check me off your list of “cool” people … I’ll do better next time. Maybe I’ll force myself to see your horror flick – then go to counseling for Post Traumatic Stress. HA) SOOOO my vote it definitely for Napoleon Dynamite. It’s a feel good, root for the underdog, bring you back to you junior high/high school dorky days. And he wears moon boots. Who doesn’t smile when they see that?
I thought Fight Club from top to bottom is the best film out of the three, but not the best brand. The tilt toward the end was great. ND’s word-of-mouth gave it legs; but I think it has jumped the shark since. You can now find ‘Vote for Pedro’ shirts at Target. (I like the “Pedro lacks political experience’ better.)
When a movie can make a manufacturer create a product that wasn’t even part of their existing inventory (i.e. the red Swingline stapler), you’ve got something amazing. Office Space was also released in 1999 and is still going strong. My vote goes to Office Space.
