Laird Hamilton all the way, plus I want to see thomas win for a change.
Laird rules the day this time…plus there is no way Seth could ride a wave like Laird. Funny thing is…I am a creative marketing guy…but, I love to surf.
A big part of branding is clarity of message and purpose. When you mention Laird, you automatically think surfing. With Seth, you think of something much less focused and defined. For me, that means Laird has a stronger “brand”.
Kimbobo is back again to amuse the both of you! I’m sorry to say that I am not a Euro-Japanese pop group (although that does sound like fun)...but in fact a geeky marketing analyst in upstate NY. =) I’ve got a variety of comments from this weeks show…
1) west elm is _actually owned by Williams-Sonoma.
2) Online vs Store shopping: I’m a major believer in Retail Therapy so I shop both online and in the store…generally I shop in the store for clothes/furniture and other things I need to try out before I buy. I also use store shopping for instant gratification of my geeky toys (iPod, Treo, etc..) because I just can’t wait. =) Anthing else I’ll buy online because its just so much easier and somethings you can’t get locally.
3) I’m voting for Seth Godin. I’ve been reading his stuff for several years now, so I’m loyal to his brand. =)
