In this dose of lockjaw radio, we’ll discuss the following topics:

  • Be ye prepared to plunder some software
  • We have a new name: lockjawicious
  • Don’t date him – he’s got PCCD
  • It’s time to unpimp your Hasslefactor –
  • How do you spell money? Starbucks

This week’s special guests: Author T. Jason Smith and 2005 lockjaw radio Listener of the Year Justin Farrey. They join the discussion of preparing for your first job, and online university degrees – a real case study.

Congrats to Jamin Rathbun who won a copy of Jason’s book by completing the impossibly hard task of sending us an email with the subject line “Free Book”. Next time, it will be even harder! Congratulations Jamin, and thanks for listening!

Brand2Brand Combat is taking a week off (we can hear your dismay), but you’ll be happy to know that the results of brand2brand combat #23 were in favor of: Jose Castillo (the entrepreneur, not the 2nd baseman). Thanks to all who voted!

Our very special sponsor for DOSE #24 and #25: Aspen Mountain Publishing . Current release: Leaving Campus and Going to Work . Our guest host: Author T. Jason Smith

Leaving Campus and Going to Work - T. Jason Smith

This book has been highly recommended for college or high school graduates entering the workforce. Order at the publisher’s website or via the Amazon link to the right.

Website of the Week
createaway.com A great idea and great resource (produced in Johnson City, TN!). They explain it better than we can: “Createaway is an innovative digital broadcast portal representing the future trend of Radio & TV broadcast. Createaway taps into the emerging on-demand digital communications revolution and provides visitors free access to a variety of streaming audio and video features along with mp3 downloads that can be shared with friends and family.”

Ad of the Week:
Jetta Crash Commercials A gutsy move by CPB and Volkswagen – to promote safety features of the new Jetta with shockingly realistic crashes. Just watch it.

    Hi Lockjaw Radio and fans—

Thanks for the callout and link to adverlicio.us.

It’s a hobby site and 90% a labor of love, but it does draw more traffic than you’d expect from those in the advertising and marketing worlds. Lots of copywriters, art directors, account planners, and even clients looking for inspiration and new thinking.

Case in point: you jokingly mentioned the infamous (and gross) Lamisil ads … only on my site can you quickly find 3 of them for reference. Or multiple ads by Lamisil’s parent, Novartis. Or dozens of direct-to-consumer pharma ads from Pfizer, GSK, et al.

On the lighter side, I’ve also snagged the hard-to-find “Knock Out Osama!” ads. Gotta have them, no? :-)

So, have at it! And, again, thanks!

Thanks adverlicio.us! We’re looking so forward to seeing the Lamisil ads once again, as we have missed them so. Seriously, thanks for listening and good luck with the site!
